Alabama: The Fight Continues Toward 2020

Hello Alabama Wine Lovers,

Sadly, the fight continues for legal direct wine shipping in the state of Alabama. Despite an overwhelming approval by the state House of Representatives, the direct shipping bills died when Senator J.T. “Jabo” Waggoner, in his role as Rules Chairman, refused to allow the bill to go to the Senate floor for a vote.

ACTION: If you would like to tell Chairman Waggoner that you are tired of having your freedom of choice thwarted by politicians, you can do so by emailing directly with the following message:

Chairman Waggoner: as a voter and a wine lover in the state of Alabama, I am dismayed that you unilaterally thwarted SB 274 by not allowing it to come to the Senate floor for a vote. It is time for Alabama’s wine lovers to have freedom to order wines directly from wineries and have it shipped to them. Legal wine direct shipping already occurs in 45 states and the District of Columbia. It’s time to enact in Alabama! Please reconsider your position in 2020.

We aren’t giving up. The fight does continue for another shot at freeing the grapes in 2020.

Thank you!
